Directions: From Dublin City, follow the signs for N4/Galway/Sligo/Westport and once you go over the M50 motorway (about 5 miles from city centre) continue to travel West on the N4 (later the M4), bypassing Lucan (3 miles from M50) and Leixlip and take Exit 7 onto the R406, signed for Maynooth/Naas/Straffan (8.6 miles from M50). At the end of this slip-road, you come to the Straffan Road Roundabout and take second exit (signs for Naas/Clane) onto the R406 and travel for 3.2 miles until you come to Barberstown Roundabout (at Barberstown Castle). Take the third exit onto the R403, passing Barberstown Castle on your left, again following signs for Clane/Naas. Travel for 0.5 miles, taking the first left past Barberstown Castle Hotel onto the L5049 (New Road). Rathadam House B&B is the first house on the left and the name is on the right hand pillar and there is an old style water pump & the 50/80 km speed limit on the roadside in front of the house.

If travelling from Dublin airport follow signs for Dublin/City. About 2 miles from the airport take the M50 (south), leaving the M50 at Exit 7, keeping on the right hand lane of this sliproad off the M50, following the signs for Galway/Sligo/Westport/West/N4. From here the directions are as above.

Using public transport, there is a frequent bus service from the city centre Bus Station (Bus Aras) to Straffan. From Bus Aras take the 120/123 to Edenderry and it goes about every 30 minutes up until about 7.30 and about every hour after that. Exit the bus at Cobbs, which is half way up New Road and close to Straffan village. Rathadam House is the last house on your right hand side walking in the direction of the bus or first house at the junction of New Road and the Celbridge to Clane road, about 2 minutes walk from the bus stop at Cobbs. There is an old style black pump in the lawn area outside the hedge and a 50/80 km speed sign.There is a frequent public bus service from Dublin Airport to the Bus Aras.

From Cork/Limerick make your way to the M7/N7 and after bypassing Naas, take Exit 7, signed for Straffan. In the centre of Straffan village, there are four crossroads, with the Straffan Inn pub on your right and the Catholic Church on your left. Turn left onto New Road (up by the side of the Catholic Church) and travel for about half a mile. We are the last house on the right on New Road and the house name is on the right hand pillar.
